Schutzhund/IGP

Schutzhund is a dog sport that was originally developed in Germany for German Shepherds. It is a demanding and rigorous activity that tests the dog's obedience, agility, and protection skills. The sport consists of three main components: tracking, obedience, and protection.

During the tracking phase, the dog follows a scent trail and indicates the location of various objects.

In the obedience phase, the dog must perform a series of commands such as heel, sit, and stay.

The protection phase is where the dog demonstrates its courage and ability to protect its handler by performing tasks like searching for hidden individuals and apprehending a suspect.

Schutzhund is not only a sport but also a way to evaluate the working abilities of a German Shepherd. It requires a high level of training, focus, and discipline from both the dog and its handler.
